I’m getting old.
It’s getting harder and harder to handle the keyboard and manage multiple keys at the same time.
Does this mean I have to accept getting wtfpwnd by 12 year-olds?
Hell no! With age, comes experience.
From my experience, I have concocted a script so devious it would make teenagers cry.
I present to you: The scout’s quick dodge script.
Dodging - Quickly double jumping to any direction you choose, could get you out of a bind.
Executed similarly to dodging in Unreal Tournament, all you have to do is quick tap a movement key, and you’re on you way.
The script handles double jumping, moving, crouching and timing for you, allowing you to maneuver using a single key.
A thorough explanation of the script and its capabilities can be found along with it, in the appended file.
* Proper disclosure: I’m not old and I’m certainly not getting “wtfpwnd” by 12 year-olds, that is what’s called “dramatization” *
Happy hunting.
Download the TF2 Scout’s Quick dodge script here
Description:This script adds functionality to your movement keys by performing a quick dodge whenever tapped twice (such as in Unreal Tournament)
Usage:Holding or pressing the movement keys would result in regular movement. the script is only triggered when a movement key is held for a very short period of time, gets released, and once again gets pressed (meaning tapped twice).
Restriction:The script is useable by all classes. However, only the scout can utilize its full potential.
Activation: The script must be loaded to be used, this can be achieved by using the EXEC command ingame and specifing this file’s name (Dodge.cfg), or by appending it to your autoexec.cfg, or by issuing the EXEC command from the autoexec.cfg.
NOTE: all files mentioned above must reside in ..\SteamApps\<USER>\team fortress 2\tf\cfg
Setting up:To use this script, you must bind the aliases named: “+MoveDodgeUp”, “+MoveDodgeDown”, “+MoveDodgeLeft” and “+MoveDodgeRight”.
“+InAirAction” and “-InAirAction” are available for doing actions in mid air (such as ducking).
Default setting for all of these can be found at the bottom of this script.
Any questions you may have, may be posted in the comments below and will be answered shortly (but RTFM first).

Hmm you say you need this to beat 12 year olds.. what if a 12 year old uses this. ur doomed
Well, fortunately the game is ESRB rated M.
So worst case scenario, I’d tell their parents
I’m a dad and I don’t know where to enter these binds and how in the cfg???
Hi Da,
You need to download the file appended to this guide, rename it from .txt to .cfg and place it in your steam directory under the following path:
“..\SteamApps\(user name)\team fortress 2\tf\cfg”
Note that (user name) is the account name you’re using.
The easiest way to activate the script is by adding the following line to autoexec.cfg:
“exec Dodge” (remove the quotation)
If autoexec.cfg doesn’t exist, simply create a notepad file and rename it accordingly. And if you’re having problems editing .cfg files, just open them using notepad.
Hope this helped you.

can i get a script to disguise, backstab, cloak, disguise. that would be helpful for my spy. thx.
Lol Keanu you lazy bastard. How about you make one yourself and post it here for us to use.
Sorry Keanu, I don’t like playing as spy so not gonna be making any spy scripts (at least not in the near future).
However, if you have any other interesting script suggestions, feel free to post them here.
I copied the script into my scout.cfg file and was playing around with it for a bit but i didnt see much difference. Either i copied it incorrectly, didnt change necessary components of the script, or am not tapping the buttons quick enough.
where it states setting up:
To use this script, you must bind the aliases //
// named: “+MoveDodgeUp”, “+MoveDodgeDown”, //
// “+MoveDodgeLeft” and “+MoveDodgeRight”. //
// “+InAirAction” and “-InAirAction” are available //
// for doing actions in mid air (such as ducking). //
// Default setting for all of these can be found //
// at the bottom of this script.
Do i need to change any of that information? I thought it was all in your script.
Thanks
I believe it means you need to manually bind your movement keys to those commands.
Mar_Tzipan will probably be here tomorrow to help you further, as you can see it’s kinda late here at this hour.
At the bottom of the script you can find the binds needed.
Make sure you bind it to whichever keys you want, also make sure the script has been loaded successfully (to do this, you can use the “alias” command in console and verify the aliases exist).
