Mossad was the home for Israeli TFC, and there is no reason why it shouldn’t be the home of TF2 in Israel - Especially seeing the way the community is treated by other gaming websites.

Most of us Clan C-YA members are avid TF2 evangelists, but it’s hard to convince some of our old TFC mates to try TF2 - They miss grenades and think they won’t enjoy TF2.

Obviously, what we need to properly convince them is a free weekend - four days of FREE TF2 for them to try it out, and for us to shove a critical rocket into their faces.

In a Email correspondence, Mike Morasky from VALVe told me:

I’ve heard talk of a free weekend but can’t say exactly when it’ll happen. Just know it’s in the works.

Thanks for writing and spreading the word about TF.

So don’t give up just yet! The chance for everyone to see just how much TF2 is worth is getting near!

Every time a bug gets really annoying, it gets crushed within a few days, so gj VALVe there, I suppose some of these bugs would also annoy us if we realised they were there.

Highlights include:

Engineers no longer score for traveling in their own teleporters (I actually saw someone that built entrance near exit, did nothing for a long time, and stopped only when he got 25 points.)

Various fixes for stats not saving (That one really annoyed lots of people)

Added nice freeze effect for the “jpeg” command

The full list of changes:

Improved paged pool memory tracking

Fixed crash on importing spray logo that claimed to be a valid jpeg file, but wasn’t

Fixed Medic’s uber-charge stats tracking

Fixed a bug in scoring Engineer building destruction

Engineers no longer earn points for using their own teleporters

Freezepanel hud improvements now trigger on usage of the “jpeg” command

Fixed Spies exploit enabling them to attack while disguising, without losing disguise

Fixed Spies being able to attach sappers through thin walls

Fixed several melee weapon switching exploits

Fixed exploit that allowed players to teleport with the intelligence

Fixed a client crash related to MP3 playing

Improved client handling of stats when a connection couldn’t be made to the stat servers. Fixes several cases of stat loss

A lot of people wondered what is the meaning of Team Fortress 2 shifting out of Beta - Well apparently one major difference is that updates don’t come once every two days, but once every two weeks. Today’s update brought us:

Some crash fixes

An improved death cam

Improvements to player avoidance code - the one that make me slip off the top part of Dustbowl point one

Improvement of the code that decides who to move in auto balance - Was usually me

Fixed “Very High” texture detail not being saved

And lots more

Here’s the full list:

Improved compatibility for direct sound

and hide other hud elements until the freezecam fades

Improved networking compatibility for some routers

Fixed a crash during level init related to model loading

Fixed issues on Dustbowl and Hydro that could occur when a server
emptied in the middle of a round

Fixed a bug in the clientside player avoidance code, and smoothed it a
little more

Further crash fixes related to paged pool memory usage

Fixed scoreboard team scores label getting cut off

Engineer buildings now explode when the Engineer dies during sudden
death

Fixed a spy backstab exploit where you could stab a player who was not
facing away from you

Fixed flailing at the low end of the cloak meter when the player gets
uncloaked automatically

Fixed texture detail level setting “Very high” not being preserved

Improved various error messages, and added links to steampowered
support pages

Fixed scoring problem where destroying a buildable added a phantom
point, not attributed to any scoring bucket but still included in total
score

Fixed honeypot server problems

Fixed a rare crash caused by a medigun losing its owner

Fixed an exploit that allowed disconnected medics to continue
ubercharging their target until they timed out

TeamMenu now disables the spectate button if mp_allowspectators is
zero

Added a missing “cannot_be_spectator” localization string

Re-added class count numbers above class buttons for non-zero classes,
in addition to the class images

Removed prefixes (tc_, ctf_, etc.) from map names in various places
where they’re printed

Fixed some edge cases where grenades could go through player or
buildings

Fixed rocket/grenade explosions being able to impart damage through
thin ceilings

The Engineer’s “build X” commands will now behave properly when bound

The thing is, there is no default bind for the “quit” action, definitely not F10. And the console is turned off by default.

True, most of us the experienced gamers enable the developer console on first thing as soon as we get a VALVe/Half Life game, by going to options->Keyboard->Advanced. And bind F10 to quit, like it has been since WOLF3D.

But those that know what a console is, and how to turn it on, will not type “quit” into it, no matter how many times you tell them to. And if someone sets the keyboard shortcut F10 to quitting the game engine, then he won’t press it because you ask him what it does.

Lamers, stop embarrassing yourselves and making yourselves look like idiots. Stop wasting my precious reading time - I have a medic to disable.
